Defunct fire systems put Lucknow development body flats at risk

LUCKNOW: Around 40,000 people living in 15 apartments in Gomtinagar Extension are under serious risk of fire as the hydrant system of these apartments are lying dysfunctional for years. Many occupants of these flats complain that systems were faulty since the beginning and despite incidents of fire in the past the agency has not learnt its lesson.

Ban on sale, transfer of land in 14 villages for Indore-Budani rail line

INDORE: Local administration has put a ban on sale, purchase, and transfer of land in as many as 14 villages of Kanadia and Sanwer tehsil, where marking has been carried out to acquire land for Indore-Budani broad gauge rail project. Indore ADM Pavan Jain, in his order, has instructed the sub-divisional officer (SDO, revenue) and the land acquisition officer of Kanadia and Sanwer tehsil immediately put a ban on sale, purchase and transfer of land that has been marked to lay down a broad-gauge railway track for Indore-Budhani rail project.

Ghaziabad: Water fee added, approvals of building map are set to cost more now

Now, residents will have to shell out more for getting a building map approved from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). This is because the state government has decided to levy a one-time water fee at the rate of Rs 50 per sqm on each map that comes for approval, a move necessitated to bring uniformity over such a charge across development authorities in UP.

Pune civic body mulls no water connections for property tax defaulters

Big tax defaulters will be targeted first. Action will be taken in old civic areas as well as in newly merged villages, said officials. Zonal-level teams have been formed. They will start sending notices to defaulter from next week. A deadline will be given to property tax owners within which they should clear their dues. If they fail to do so, the civic administration will snap their water connections.

After 25 years, 400 families of a slum area rehabilitated in Bikaner

People belonging to various nomadic communities including Sansi, Kanjar, Dholi, Bhat and Nat had lived in the slum area close to the national highway for nearly 25 years, according to Bikaner collector Bhagwati Prasad Kalal. According to the collector, instead of forcibly removing the slum dwellers from the encroached area near the national highway, they have been rehabilitated by the district administration.

Jammu Development Authority to develop integrated satellite township at Bhalwal

Jammu Development Authority (JDA) is going to develop an integrated smart satellite township for a population of about 50 thousand along Ring Road at Bhalwal. The decision to develop the satellite township was taken in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the JDA under the chairmanship of Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary Housing & Urban Development Department (HUDD).

YEIDA to offer 326 housing plots near Noida airport, Film City

Yamuna Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned to launch a scheme of 326 residential plots in the Sector 16 area near the upcoming Noida airport. Arun Vir Singh, CEO Yamuna Authority, said the plots are of 120, 162 and 200 sqm sizes. "We have applied for Rera registration and will launch the scheme next week, once the Rera approval comes," he said. The plots are in a prime location since projects like airport, Film City, medical device park, etc., are coming up in the neighbourhood.

SWAMIH fund approves Rs 90 crore for stalled real estate project in Meerut

The Special Window for Affordable & Mid-Income Housing (SWAMIH) fund has approved about ₹90 crore for completion of a stalled real estate project in Meerut. The last-mile funding, which includes ₹75 crore for construction and ₹14.5 crore as contingency fund, will lead to time-bound delivery of houses to 450 home buyers. The project started in 2015 but there has been no work since 2018. Total cost of the project is ₹145 crore, of which almost ₹50 crore has been invested.

Uttar Pradesh RERA claims to have decided 89% cases

According to UP-RERA, a total of 44,555 complaints were lodged with it which is 38% of the total complaints filed across the country. In all, decision has been taken in 39,709 cases, it said, adding that the task was achieved during the 100th meeting of the authority held recently. Out of the total orders of the authority, 22,890 required compliance from promoters against which 12,228 complainants have filed online requests for execution of orders.

Visakhapatnam: Few more vacant lands put on auction

The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has put a few more vacant lands on auction of around 12 acres located in various areas in the city. The authorities are expecting more than Rs 300 crores to Rs 400 crores which can be deposited into the state government’s exchequer. The lands are situated at Madhurawada, Kapuluppada, Parawada, and other places.
